Carbon-Free Formvar Film for TEM Grids

Product Description
The chemical composition of the Formvar support film is polyvinyl formal.
It is soluble in dichloroethane or trichloromethane solutions.
The formed film has high strength and good transparency.
Carbon-free Formvar film is a pure organic film with no coating on the surface.
It offers good elasticity and low background interference, and can support
observation of a wide range of samples.
It is an ideal material for carrying ultrathin sections and also performs
very well when observing materials such as nanopowders.
However, because Formvar film has poor electrical conductivity, under electron-beam
irradiation it may undergo local heating or charge accumulation, which can cause
local carbonization, black spots, sample drift, or even film breakage and damage
to the observed sample.
It is commonly used with 100 kV electron microscopes.
Typical film thickness: 10–15 nm.
Recommended grid: 200 mesh.
