Production
Custom glass and metal encoder discs are produced through a
closed-loop manufacturing process from raw material to finished product,
suitable for high-end manufacturing requirements.
Materials & Process Options
Glass Encoder Discs
- Glass substrates such as quartz glass and soda-lime glass are used.
After chromium coating, light and dark code tracks are formed by an
etching process. - Strong thermal stability, with typical accuracy of ±0.2 µm and
maximum accuracy up to ±0.03 µm. - Typical measurement accuracy can reach 3 µm, with maximum
measurement accuracy up to 0.3 µm. - Reflective design uses optical signal reflection for high-precision
angular reading and is suitable for incremental encoder applications. - Wear-resistant coating materials can improve acid/alkali resistance
and wear resistance to more than three times that of ordinary materials.
Metal Encoder Discs
- Direct line-engraving process.
- Strong impact resistance but prone to deformation.
- Thermal stability is one order of magnitude lower than that of
glass materials, which limits precision.

Customization
- Supports custom pulse counts from 256 to 5000 lines.
- Drawing-based and sample-based processing services are available.
- CAD drawings should specify material, tolerance, thickness and
other required details. - Drawings should clearly specify the required manufacturing result,
including positive/negative plate distinction and defect acceptance
criteria such as allowable defects under specified magnification. - Specifications such as Ø60 mm diameter and 1 mm thickness can be customized.
Product Features & Applications
- Glass encoder disc accuracy can reach 0.2 µm and is suitable for
high-precision measurement applications such as machinery
manufacturing and CNC machine tools. - Incremental encoders measure angular displacement through pulse
counting, while reflective designs improve signal capture efficiency. - Custom specifications are available to suit different equipment requirements.
